The WOW factor.
When we first established the Skylar Foundation, I never anticipated how rapidly our efforts would gain momentum. We have since reached significant milestones, including the completion of essential training with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the Nurtured Heart Institute. Additionally, we are on track to complete our Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) training by mid-July. We are also honored to have become members of the Utah NonProfit Association and to be working alongside the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)—both of which are invaluable partners in our mission.
We are eager to participate in upcoming community engagement initiatives, including a collaborative event with SAMHSA and an informational booth at the 9th and 9th Street Fair. Furthermore, we have launched a new fundraising campaign featuring our signature tote bags and limited-edition “SkyBot” t-shirts, each available for a minimum donation of $25. While these items serve as a token of our gratitude, please know that we welcome donations of any amount; every contribution is deeply appreciated.
As our reach expands, our primary objective is to establish a permanent physical location. All future donations will go directly toward funding a dedicated community center that will serve as an urgent care facility for mental health services. This center will allow us to hire and train professional staff, ensuring that our clinic not only bears our name but truly embodies our commitment to youth recovery and suicide prevention.
Your support is now more critical than ever, as we operate solely through charitable gifts. We are profoundly grateful for every contribution, and as our donor community grows, we will always honor those who have stood with us from the beginning, including those donating in memory of loved ones and those whose continued belief in our mission makes this work possible.
